ALUWANI Capital Partners is an independent Black owned and owner managed investment management business, registered with the Financial Services Board (“FSB”) and is an approved investment manager in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (“FAIS”). The business was founded in December 2015 following a management buy-out of Momentum Asset Management’s (‘MAM’) third party institutional business from MMI Holdings by senior staff. The idea behind the formation of ALUWANI was premised by the desire to create a Black owned entity that would play a transformational role within South Africa while building a sustainable investment business that is underpinned by strong client partnerships and consistent delivery of investment growth.

ALUWANI’s core offering is active investment management with research and product capabilities across all asset classes. We manage approximately R65 billion, as at 29 February 2016, on behalf of institutional clients, which includes Retirement Funds, Medical Schemes, Treasuries, State Owned Enterprises, Corporates and Insurers.

What’s in the name: ALUWANI is a Tshivenda name meaning “to prosper or to grow”, and is reflective of the foundation of our business, which is to positively contribute towards prosperity of all our stakeholders, including clients, staff, shareholders and communities.
